Twinning Forum and Special Session "Pro bono: the marketplace of ideas!"

A new initiative: the Twinning Forum, in partnership with the Conférence des Bâtonniers

The aim of this forum will be two-fold. Firstly, to enable Bar Associations to launch new cooperation projects or to revive pre-existing cooperation projects. Secondly, to propose twinning arrangements to Bars which have not yet taken part in cooperation projects. It will highlight the bonds of friendship and partnerships forged between the Bars, members of the FBE. Several rooms in the Maison du Barreau will be dedicated to this forum: regionalized rooms and a practical room! Special Session "Pro Bono: the marketplace of ideas!"

As part of the twinning Forum, a specific area will be dedicated to Bars associations and lawyers’ Pro Bono initiatives. Discover the best and most innovative ideas of Bars on the matter and create bonds while contributing to the development of these solidarity actions promoting a real and suited access to the law for all! If you wish to expose your initiatives or broadcast your Pro Bono documentation, please contact Théodore Malgrain for further information at : tmalgrain@avocatparis.org

International Human Rights Prize Ludovic Trarieux

Awarded to Barkin Timtik and posthumously to her sister, Ebru Timtik

The European Bars Federation, the Paris Bar, and the Jury of the International Human Rights Prize Ludovic Trarieux are pleased to inform you that the award ceremony of the Ludovic Trarieux Prize for 2020, which was awarded jointly to Barkin Timtik and posthumously to her sister, Ebru Timtik, both lawyers of the Istanbul Bar Association (Turkey), will take place during the Congress.

The prize is awarded every year to a lawyer, regardless of nationality or Bar, who throughout his career has illustrated, by his activity or his suffering, the defence of human rights, the promotion of defence rights, the supremacy of law, and the struggle against racism and intolerance in any form.
